Wicked Fighting Game Backgrounds GIFs

“Redditor RudeBootie has made an album consisting in 125 fighting game backgrounds as GIFs. That’s right… remember all the arenas where you defeated your foes in the past? Well, they’re back in a glorious way. In my opinion these below are some of the best you’ll find in the collection, but don’t be mistaken: they’re all great! Check it out. Cheers! ;)”

Capcom vs SNK 2 - London (This Is True Love Makin’)

Let’s face it, when it comes to CvS2 music this is the first thing people remember, know, and love. I remember I having a scratch on my Dreamcast version and the song wouldn’t play unless you did a super lol.

Because I’m in a Yipes mood.

Even if I win next to nothing at EVO, if I have my match commentated by this man, it will be a win for me.

Persona 4: Arena First Week Sales Obliterate Champions’

The game isn’t out in America yet, but the game saw a pretty substantial milestone already in Japan, selling nearly 140,000 units (most coming from the PS3 version) in its first week. Those are impressive numbers by themselves, but compare this news to the first week sales of the bigger name series:

(2009) Street Fighter IV [PS3] – 86,075 | 131,727

(2009) Street Fighter IV [360] – 37,782 | 51,152

(2009) BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger [PS3] – 33,768 | 57,796

(2009) BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger [360] – 24,812 | 36,065

(2009) Tekken 6 [PS3] – 103,105 | 171,188

(2009) Tekken 6 [360] – 23,261 | 36,673

(2010) Super Street Fighter IV [PS3] – 80,882 | 177,583

(2010) Super Street Fighter IV [360] – 28,454 | 46,871

(2010) BlazBlue: Continuum Shift [PS3] – 49,871 | 85,152

(2010) BlazBlue: Continuum Shift [360] – 16,184 | 22,543

That’s right, the series has outsold both Street Fighter IV and Tekken 6 in their first week sales.

There are a number of implications for the fighting genre in the future because of this data, but we’ll need to see how well the game does in America before drawing anything substantial!

The game arrives August 7th for North Americans!

Cannot wait for this game.

I had fun at Evolution 2012.

From hitting on Karaface to cooking with Jaha.

It was a fucking blast. You got to come next year, you guys.

From stremmonster to crown monster.
